Job Details
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Manage and review complex tax engagements across individuals, partnerships, corporations, trusts, and estates
- Provide proactive tax planning, research, and advisory support to clients
- Identify tax issues, develop practical solutions, and communicate recommendations clearly to clients and partners
- Manage IRS and state tax authority examinations from start to finish
- Coordinate multiple priorities and engagements in a deadline-driven environment
- Collaborate directly with firm partners and maintain strong, lasting client relationships
- Lead, mentor, and develop junior staff through coaching, delegation, and structured feedback
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives and firm growth efforts
You Should Have Most of the Following
- 7 or more years of public accounting experience with a focus on tax
- CPA license or Enrolled Agent (EA) credential (CPA preferred)
- Strong proficiency with CCH Axcess Tax and CCH Engagement
- Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Excel for tax analysis and reporting
- Demonstrated experience managing IRS and state tax authority examinations
- Proven ability to handle tax planning and research across a variety of entity types
- Experience mentoring and developing staff in a public accounting setting
- Ability to manage multiple client engagements simultaneously under deadline pressure
