Job Details
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Design and build features in C# and ASP.NET Core, including a Blazor-based web front end
- Extend and maintain REST API services covering data access, validation, authorization, and API contracts consumed by internal applications and customer integrations
- Maintain and incrementally modernize existing VB.NET desktop, web, and service components without disrupting customers running them in production
- Write and tune SQL against relational databases, working within existing schemas and data access layers
- Write automated tests and diagnose regressions and defects reported from customer environments using logs, traces, and reproduction environments
- Participate in code review, technical design discussions, and written documentation
- Support deployment and configuration of the product in Windows and IIS server environments
You Should Have Most of the Following
- 3 or more years of professional software development delivering business applications on the Microsoft .NET stack
- Strong C# skills and practical experience with ASP.NET Core (.NET 6 or later), including web APIs, dependency injection, configuration, and middleware
- Solid relational database skills covering non-trivial SQL, indexes and query plans, and productive work within normalized schemas you did not design
- Experience with Entity Framework Core or a similar ORM, plus the judgment to know when hand-written SQL is the better tool
- Web front-end fundamentals (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and hands-on experience with a component-based UI framework such as Blazor, React, or Angular
- Comfort reading, debugging, and safely modifying large codebases written by others, including older code with limited test coverage
- Automated testing discipline using xUnit, NUnit, or MSTest
- Git-based workflow and Windows platform fluency covering IIS, Windows services, permissions, and basic Active Directory
Nice to Have
- VB.NET, WinForms, or ASP.NET WebForms maintenance experience
- Identity and authentication work including OpenID Connect, Entra ID, JWT, or LDAP
- Document imaging experience across formats or tooling such as PDF, TIFF, OCR, or document viewers
