Job Details
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Develop, implement, and monitor a comprehensive purchasing strategy aligned with company goals
- Build and maintain relationships with new and existing vendors, including regular account reviews and daily supplier communication
- Negotiate product procurement rates and manage vendor rebate programs with monthly and quarterly audits
- Create and maintain supply plans to support timely product delivery and warehouse operations
- Research and implement supplier programs the company is not currently participating in
- Support the operations team by sourcing products for rebates, monitoring market merchandising, and tracking product movement trends
- Review all supplier contracts and rebate programs to ensure they remain current and applicable
- Attend industry events and represent the company at relevant supplier conferences
- Oversee and support purchasing staff
- Participate in weekly operations meetings and Monday morning management meetings
You Should Have Most of the Following
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a purchasing role
- Valid driver's license
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Strong interpersonal skills with a positive, high-energy, team-oriented approach
- Ability to manage multiple vendor relationships and competing priorities simultaneously
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
Nice to Have
- Background in food service or hospitality
- Experience with NetSuite or a comparable ERP platform
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree
