Job Details
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Prepare and review tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, trusts, and estates
- Support tax planning, research, and advisory work under the direction of managers and partners
- Identify tax issues and draft practical recommendations for manager and partner review
- Assist with IRS and state tax authority examinations, including documentation and response preparation
- Manage multiple client engagements and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Build relationships with clients while working directly alongside managers and partners
- Provide guidance and review support to staff-level accountants
- Contribute ideas and support to ongoing process improvement initiatives
You Should Have Most of the Following
- 3 or more years of public accounting experience with a focus on tax
- CPA license or Enrolled Agent (EA) credential, or actively working toward CPA
- Strong proficiency with CCH Axcess Tax and CCH Engagement
- Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Excel for tax analysis and reporting
- Exposure to IRS and state tax authority examinations
- Ability to research and apply tax rules across a variety of entity types
- Comfortable managing multiple client engagements simultaneously under deadline pressure
