Job Details
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Prepare and review fiduciary income tax returns (Form 1041) for trusts and estates
- Prepare and review exempt organization returns (Form 990) for nonprofit clients
- Prepare and review federal gift and estate tax returns (Forms 706 and 709)
- Analyze the tax implications of pass-through entities as they relate to trusts, estates, and individual clients
- Coordinate with clients and internal teams to gather documentation and ensure accurate, timely filing
- Identify planning opportunities and potential issues across fiduciary and individual tax engagements
- Mentor and support junior staff on technical matters related to estate, gift, and nonprofit taxation
You Should Have Most of the Following
- Several years of public accounting experience with a focus on fiduciary, estate, gift, and exempt organization taxation
- Demonstrated hands-on experience preparing and reviewing Forms 1041, 990, 706, and 709
- Solid understanding of pass-through entity taxation and how it intersects with individual and fiduciary returns
- Familiarity with the legal and structural frameworks governing trusts, estates, and nonprofit organizations
- CPA license or active candidacy strongly preferred
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple engagements and deadlines simultaneously
- Clear written and verbal communication skills for client-facing and internal collaboration
